Poor Thistle, its magic is underestimated
Beautiful work on lights and compositing, as usual ^^

I like how the comic is evolving, and the characters too. The squirrel has a lot of potential, and it’s nice to start seeing that.
And there’s something about the way you’ve drawn Ara that’s almost hypnotic. Is she based on anyone real?

+1 on Ara. she’s a beauty.

Thank you for creating female characters who are practically clothed for travel and sanely proportioned. I get so tired of other strips whose females have antigravity basketball breasts of DOOM, and are clad in two shreds of fur and enough chainmail to make a bracelet - absurd! No female with a grain of common sense would try to travel anywhere like that.
You, on the other hand, clothe your characters in a way that can actually work. I appreciate that.

Naki, Xade: Yup, poor Thistle can’t catch a break.
Joe: Thanks! One of my main goals is to effectively grow the characters and world over time, instead of just laying it all out in a narration or “about” page. (though I should probably put something in the about page)
No one in the comic is based on anyone real, but I did spend a bit of time putting together the main characters, not just exporting them from the stock characters of the 3d program.
Lee: I think she’s the reason people click the ads I have sprinkled around on other webcomics. Though maybe people see the squirrel and go, “squee! a squirrel!” clickclickclick.
Murrday: I wanted to avoid the “woman fighter = busty chainmail bikini” cliché. Even some comics that parody the cliché rely on it far too much.
I am also trying to keep a sense of “reality” in this fantasy world (not the only reason for my ban on chainmail bikinis). Sometimes I slip up, or it doesn’t really affect things too much (we’ll say that Thom and Joss’s chainmail is lined, so it doesn’t rub their skin raw). See, I even gave them backpacks! (page 54)
